Weider is a brand that has been around forever it seems and is very well known. They are known for producing fitness equipment that is top notch. The same can be said about the core 100 pound adjustable dumbbell set. I really enjoyed this set of dumbbells and think they look great, are build out of great materials that should last a long time, and offer you flexibility in your lifting. Like a lot of competitor products, you can adjust this set from 10 all the way up to 50 pounds which will take the place of almost a half rack of normal dumbbells.
This product also comes with a very nice looking stand to keep your dumbbells off the floor out of toe kicking distance in your home gym. You will never damage your back getting these bad boys off the floor. You can also learn against the stand while you are doing dumbbell rows which are one of my favorite exercises. When the weight gets up to 50 pounds, you want to make sure you lift as safe as possible and this stand definitely helps with this. Most other products sell their stands as a way to get more money. With Weider, you get the stand for the price of the adjustable dumbbells.

A lot of people are going to look at the price and think that these are expensive compared to some of the other products you can buy. While this may be a concern, this set comes with a ton of features which I think makes it more than worth while. First off, this set comes with a stand where a lot of other manufacturers will not give you one and instead make you purchase one seperately. The stand also offers you a way to do certain exercises by learning on it and saves your dumbbells from sitting on the floor. It will keep them up, looking nice, and out of your way. What we like
I really like that this dumbbell set is offered by leaders in fitness, Weider. They are very well known and you can find their name in commercial gyms across the country. If they are good enough for high level commercial gyms, they are going to be the perfect compliment to your home workout. While these are from a trusted brand, the features that they bring to the table are stunning as well. They are very easy to use and change weights on. You get to replace half a rack of dumbbells just by buying this one set which saves a ton of space as well as time. Since dumbbells are so versatile, you will be able to do many different exercises all without needing another piece of gym equipment allowing you to tone up and gain strength at the same time.
This set goes up to 50 pounds per dumbbell or 100 pounds total. I think this is enough weight for the beginner as well as someone who has been lifting a while. If you need to change the weight, there is a small knob that you simply need to move to the weight you want to select. Once it has been moved, simply pick up the weight and start lifting! It is as easy as that!
Finally, the grips on this are pretty great as well. They feel very natural on your hands when you pick them up and have padding. This is an important aspect to me because I have had my calluses on my hand ripped off more than once by traditional dumbbells. This will not happen with this set. They are comfortable and I like it that way!
What could be improved
Some reviews have noted that while these look like a great set of dumbbells, some of the materials that they are build with are not up to par with what they have come to expect from Weider. Some of the parts are made out of plastic which has broken on several occasions. The screws that are build into the dumbbell itself are also loose at times and there is really no way to tighten them. This could cause weight to fall off. From what I can see, this only happens after people have been using their set of adjustable dumbbells for a long time.
These dumbbells are meant to be in a gym setting which means sometimes the plates on the bar are going to clash together. This can be bothersome to a few people, but if you want to lift, lifting is not quiet! If this is something that concerns you, take a look at the other dumbbells we have reviewed.
Wrapping It Up
The price is not the cheapest out of all the dumbbells we have taken a look at. That being said, they feel great on your hands (coming with padding and a shape that fits your hand), they are extremely easy to use, and you can change a knob to pick new weight. They also look great in the corner of your home gym and come with a stand that is included in the price so you do not have to buy one separately! If you do not mind spending the money, I think this a set that would fit well in your home gym. They are small, save space, and allow you to get in killer workouts day after day!
