I would like to introduce you to a subcategory of bikes called mini bikes which are great for getting in a workout in tight spaces.
Most mini bikes are pretty cheap, some more so than others. As the age old saying, you get what you paid for. Many models will try and pack in more portability while hurting the effectiveness of the unit. This unit uses adjustable magnetic resistance. Magnetic resistance produces a very smooth movement when you are pedaling away and will feel natural rather you are pedaling forward or backwards. I have had issues on mini bikes I have used in the past because my feet would not fit into the straps but the Magne Trainer ER has big adjustable Velcro straps and a rubber pad for your foot to ensure no slippage and fit for any size shoe.
Sound
A big issue with exercise bikes is that they can sometimes sound like an airplane is about to take off. This can be detrimental if you want to get in a quick session right before you go to bed and your significant other or neighbor is asleep. Since you do not want to be pinned down to working out around someone else’s schedule, a quiet unit is essential. Lucky for you, all reviews that I have read have said that the MagneTrainer is very quiet and can be barely heard when using it.
Display
The MagneTrainer-ER mini bike has a very simplistic multi function display. It only shows you a few things such as how far you have cycled, how fast you are pedaling, how much time has passed, and how many calories you have burned since your workout began. Not much to say about this, but then again, you are working out! You do not need complex information to get a good sweat in. The unit also will shut off the display to save the battery life which is helpful.
Assembly
If you can count to 5, you have the ability to assemble this bike. It basically comes completely put together. All you really need to do is put on the pedals and screw in the legs. Pop the display on and you are ready to get going. It really is that easy!
Convenience
Mini bikes are known for how convenient they can be. Think about it; they are portable, you can exercise while eating, browsing the internet, working, reading, and the list goes on and on. Like I mentioned at the beginning of this article, all mini bikes are extremely convenient but some units are sacrificing their effectiveness for more convenience. This does not seem right.
The MagneTrainer-ER really nails it on the head with this one. This is one of the mini bikes that I actually like and does not overlook effectiveness for portability and convenience. You can get a workout that feels like you used a full sized unit but really, all you did was spend less money on a smaller bike that works just as well. I would call that a win-win.
